The Fascists are attacking with their superiority in war material the Republican troops in the Ebro area. The Republican advance there ended when they ran out of ammunition. The commanders of the Army of the Center, commanding over 500.000 relatively well armed soldiers, are reluctant in mounting own initiatives to bind Fascists troops and attack the Fascists near Madrid (La Pasionara calls them "coward dogs, hiding their snouts in the dirt", without naming them in public). Prime Minister Negrin surprises the League Of Nations in Geneva with the announcement, that the Spanish Government will retire the foreign volunteers from its army, hoping that the League will mount pressure on Germany and Italy to retire their troops from Spain as well. The British and French Prime Ministers, Chamberlain and Daladier, sign the Munich agreement, selling out Austria and Czechia to the Fascist Dictators. |

| The Spanish parliament (the Cortes) meets in Sant Cugat del Valles, Prime Minister Negrin explains his plans about the expulsion of foreign volunteers and soldiers from Spain. He says that he believes in the soon outbreak of an European war, in which France and Britain will have to fight the Fascist dictatorships and therefore help Spain. The end of the blockade would be enough for Spain to win the civil war. So, resistance will be the key and lead, given time, to victory. | |
