Heavy fights in the north-western of Madrid, called La Coruña Road.

The citizens of Madrid and other cities are suffering from hunger, many lost their houses and, most horrible, the people they loved...

17 Dec *Constitution of the new government in Aragon, the "Consejo de Aragon"
  The "Consejo de Aragon" has a clear majority of Anarchists, the front-line in Aragon is basically formed my Anarchist and Socialist militia. Some areas and villages in Aragon start immediately with the "revolution", what means the reorganization of public life under Anarchist ideals, foundation of communes and self organization of fabrics and farms. Some of the villages replace money with coupons handed out by the local authorities. In Aragon the world can see the most radical reformation of public life and a true peoples revolution.
22 Dec *Thousands of Fascist Italian volunteers land in Cadiz, the Fascist port
  Those volunteers will form the CTV (Corpo Tropo Volontario), fighting on the Fascist side. Many of those "volunteers" thought they go to the regular army, not knowing that they have to fight in Spain against the Republic.
24 Dec *Noche Buena (Holy Night) in Spain
Thousands have to spend the Christmas days in the trenches on the front. Many refugees have nowhere to go and have to stay at the subway stations and refugee camps.
30 Dec *George Orwell enlist himself in a Republican Militia to fight against Fascism
  George Orwell serves in the barracks of the P.O.U.M. Militias.
31 Dec *Miguel de Unamuno dies in his House in Salamanca
  Miguel de Unamuno was kept under house arrest since his confrontation with Fascist General Millan Astray. He dies from impact accumulation. His two sons enlist themselves today, as soon as they got notice from the death of their father, in the Antifascist Militias.
